Post-Baccalaureate Scholar Program
The Post-Baccalaureate Scholar Program at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center embeds recent graduates from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds into research laboratories for comprehensive training and skill building. A full-time, paid training experience, the program matches scholars with faculty conducting cancer and immunology research projects and provides the personal and professional development needed to successfully apply to and complete competitive graduate or medical school programs.
The program includes a robust wraparound curriculum designed to scaffold trainees’ skill building and improve their STEM identity as they plan the next steps of their educational pathways. Alongside a cohort of scholars on similar tracks, trainees will have opportunities to: present their research in a variety of contexts, serve as near-peer mentors for high school and undergraduate trainees, and participate in/facilitate journal clubs.
The CURE Program partners with the Damon Runyon Scholars Program for Advancing Research and Knowledge (SPARK) and the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) to provide the post-bacc experience.
