The DF/HCC Breast Cancer Program has released RFAs for its Breast SPORE Career Enhancement Program (CEP), and Developmental Research Program (DRP) Awards, with applications now due on June 14, 2022 at 5PM. Read more about these awards below for more information.

Career Enhancement Program Award RFA (CEP)


Request for Applications:
Career Enhancement Awards in Breast Cancer

Range of Awards:
One or two awards up to $75,000 direct costs will be awarded per award

Key Dates: 
Extended Application Deadline: On or before Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 5PM
Award Date: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023

Eligibility: 

  • Faculty members (either Instructor or Assistant Professor levels) at Harvard (including Broad Institute), Harvard Medical School, Boston Medical Center, University of Massachusetts, Northeastern University, Tufts University, Boston University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 
  • Clinical, population or lab-based researchers are all eligible 
  • Underrepresented minority investigators are strongly encouraged to apply 

Purpose: To develop early career investigators committed to breast cancer research

Developmental Research Program Award RFA (DRP)

Developmental Project Awards in Breast Cancer

Range of Awards:
One or two awards up to $70,000 direct costs will be awarded per award

Key Dates:
Extended Application Deadline: On or before Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 5PM
Award Date: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023

Eligibility: 

  • Faculty members (either Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor) at Harvard (including Broad Institute), Harvard Medical School, Boston Medical Center, University of Massachusetts, Northeastern University, Tufts University, Boston University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology 
  • Clinical, population or lab-based researchers are all eligible
  • Preference will be given to early career investigators. More established investigators who wish to change their research focus to breast cancer, to study novel concepts and/or to collaborate closely with an early career investigator will be considered 
  • Underrepresented minority investigators are strongly encouraged to apply

Purpose: To advance high quality, novel, early-phase research, to foster new ideas in breast cancer research and to move research projects from a pilot stage to a level where external funding for more mature research is possible.
